Nothing Is More Rewarding Than Being A Part Of Another Person’s Healing

I have always had an interest in the human condition and the intrapsychic worlds of other people. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than learning about how other people think and feel and getting to be a part of their healing process. That’s what motivated me to become a therapist.

My journey has been an uphill climb. I started out providing therapy one day a week while juggling jobs in the service industry and community mental health. I know what it’s like to change careers and I know what it’s like to struggle while finding your path in life. Today, I am filled with gratitude for the work I do—it brings enrichment both to my life and the lives of my clients.

My Treatment Philosophy

I believe that chaos and suffering are inherent in life and will always be coming at us. My philosophy is to resolve the chaos and suffering that’s internal, so that we are better prepared to handle the chaos and suffering that’s external, or coming at us from outside.

This is why I value acceptance. I don’t believe in accepting unnecessary suffering, but I believe in accepting life on life’s terms. I help my clients accept the things they can’t change so that they focus on the things they can.

After all, it is human nature to try and solve external problems before working on our mental health. Time and again, when a problem arises, we tell ourselves: “I feel stressed because of this situation, therefore I need to fix the situation.” My goal is to flip that mindset. Instead of immediately going into problem-solving mode, I help clients get calm and emotionally regulated, and then focus on problem-solving. The less anxious we feel, the better we can handle whatever life throws our way.

My Approach To The Healing Process

I specialize in treating trauma and anxiety, as these are the experiences that I have had to address and work through in my own life. I use a trauma-informed lens in therapy, incorporating body-based approaches like Brainspotting and EMDR to help people heal from the emotional wounds of the past.

I like to be in the moment with my clients, using humor, metaphors, and self-disclosure. My favorite thing is simply watching my clients grow—seeing them deepen their awareness, discover new truths about themselves, and experience life-changing relief.

A Little Bit About Who I Am

Outside of being a therapist, I love traveling, running, biking, and spending time with my wife. I am an avid reader—I read lots of books related to my profession, but I also love reading fiction, philosophy, and social commentary.

Above all, I truly enjoy the work that I do. It gives me meaning and purpose and I worked really hard to get to where I am today. If you want to overcome the pain of the past and walk fearlessly into a new future, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

My session fee is $175 for a 55-minute session.
